Abstract
A new flow injection merging zone system was designed for the determination of Aluminum (III) using the Alizarin red S (ARS) reagent and compared with the spectroscopic method. The complex formation at the wavelength of maximum absorption of 481 nm in two simple methods for the determination of Aluminum (III) where the calibration curves were linear over the concentration ranges of (0.03 – 10) and (0.08 – 10) µg. ml-1 for both the spectroscopic method and the flow injection method, respectively, as well as the detection limits (LOD) and the limits of quantities (LOQ) (0.26, 0.088), (0.29, 0.097) µg. ml-1, respectively, and the effects of various experimental factors and the amount of Aluminum (III) in pharmaceutical formulations were studied.
